Privacy Policy — Just Bash

Last updated: 12 June 2026

Just Bash ("the app") is an offline educational reference for Linux/Unix commands. Your privacy is simple to describe because the app is built not to collect anything.

Information we collect

None. The app does not ask for your name, email, or any account. It does not contain analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Permissions

The app requests no Android permissions and has no internet access. All content is bundled inside the app and works fully offline.

Data sharing

Because no data is collected, no data is shared with us or any third party.

On-device data

Commands you mark as favourites are saved locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences so the list is still there next time you open the app. This data never leaves your device and is removed if you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Any other UI state (such as the last screen you viewed) likewise stays on your device. Copying or sharing a command uses your device's standard clipboard / share sheet; what you do with that text afterwards is handled by the other apps you choose.

Children

The app contains no objectionable content and collects no data. Its security categories are educational reference material about ethical, authorized testing, and every offensive command carries an in-app "authorized use only" warning.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
